New Fuel Pump too Big for my 89 XJ
The fuel pump on my 89 XJ went out so I went to buy a new one. Nobody has the whole fuel pump assembly so I had to buy just the fuel pump. When I took my original off I noticed it was half the size of the one I bought. Called three different autoparts place and they all carry the same pump and part number for my XJ. The original pump had a strainer built into where it takes in the fuel. The new one has a long strainer that doesn't flex. When I put it on the top of the clamp does not go in. The pump is like hiting inside the gas tank and wont let it sit right. Has anyone replaced just the pump? Did they give me the wrong one? Or did my XJ have the wrong one to begin with?

What is the fuel pump pressure soppose to be on a new fuel pump. The autoparts shows two one is 65psi and the other one is 90-110psi.

Got the right fuel pump today. This model has a delpi fuel pump which is smaller than the airtek. Fixed and running great.
