And if i do need a new engine and got a rebuilt one like this:

Should I be concerned that it has a 331 casting number, or will they have rebuilt one that was broken and it will be fine? Seems a bit crazy to replace mine with one the same that caused the problem in the first place.

I'd say you need an engine at this point.

seems that way doesn't it?

i found this service online:

http://www.perfectengine.com/

They rebuild your own engine. For a non mechanic like me seems like a good plan, it's not cheap, but seems cheaper than buying a rebuilt and having it installed. Anyone ever done something like this?
