Default New Driveshaft length after lift

After installing an OME 3 inch lift I have bad vibes. So I am ordering a sye kit and shaft. My lift uses the ome 3 inch spring with the added overload spring or flat bottom spring. This causes a bit of rake in the rear which I am not to happy with. My question is when I measure for new driveshaft will this rake cause a problem. Thanks

the sye kit wont necessarily fix the vibration
look in my pictures there is some that show proper drive line alignment
for both sye and standard setup with a 3" you don't need the sye kit

I can see the terrible angles on mine. My rear pinion needs to be raised I can see the front ujoint is pinched as it sits. My vibes come in at 25 mph and get worse. I have about 4 to 4-1/2 inchs of lift in rear. 99 xj with 120k on ujoints.

try balancing your shaft first?

Driveline vibrations AFTER lifting is most often a result of the u-joints binding due to the increased angle.

The standard "band-aid" for such vibrations is a transfer case drop. MAX drop is no more than 1". More than 1" puts undue stress and strain of the motor mounts and can lead to premature failure.
Shiming the axle to reposition the pinion is recommended., especially if a SYE is to be installed.

To answer the question: the rake will cause a problem when attempting to measure for the new shaft.

Thats what I was wondering as there is about an inch of rake. I am told that some of this will settle but I am not sure. I am concidering taking out the flat overload leaf. But I will be doing the sye and new shaft regardless. Thanks

Get the SYE in then check the degree difference between the two yokes.

There are several threads that explain on how to do this.
