Default New Black Rock Wheels

I am pretty sure that I am going to get the 15x8 (I think this is the stock size? anyone? )Black Rock Lobo wheels here soon. I am just a little confused about all the back spacing and offset and everything. I have the stock 5-point wheels now with 235/75/R15 ATs and only plan on changing the wheel. I will be lifting it soon as well with about 3".

The Lobo comes with 4" of BS and the stock has 5.25". There is no rubbing now, but will that change with the new wheels? I have tried to answer this question with research, but I think I am behind the learning curve on wheels. Also will the reduction in backspacing cause the wheel to push out from the axle or tuck in?

As far as I know, backspacing is the opposite of offset, therefore in your case I believe the wheels would stick out further since instead of 5.25" you're only gonna have 4". And not positive but I think that the stock wheels are 15x7....I was looking at wheels a while back and I remember that dimension for some reason.

I hope all this info is right

Haven't messed with wheels in a while.

the 4" backspaced wheels will stick out 1.25" MORE than you stock wheels. a 15x8 wheel isn't very ideal for a 235/75R15 tire. a 15x7 would be much better, even with a 31x10.50R15 tire.

Most, if not all, manufacturers will recommend a 6-7" wide wheel for a 235/75R15 and 7-9" wide wheel for a 31x10.50R15.

It will probably rub when hitting bumps kinda hard and will RUB HARD when you tuck a tire but mine only rubbed on the flares not on the body. an AAL solved it for the time being. The stock XJ wheels are 15x7.

Thanks alot guys. I have already removed my flares so rubbing them is not a problem. 31's is as big as I think I will ever want to go, so I will probably stick with a 7" tire. Again thanks for the help, and anyone else with info feel free to chime in.
