Default need some help

So i bought my first xj a couple weeks ago and i have been doing some routine maintenance on it and i had already known about there being no cat on it and since i live in goergia, i have to have one. so i got a magnaflow direct bolt up from summits and now im having problems. The bolts that connect the flange from the downpipe to the cat have rusted and are pretty much stuck and the head have been pretty well rounded off. Any ideas on what to do. I was thinking if i couldnt get it off than i could just buy a new down pipe from autozone because it will only run me about $30

yep and then replace bolts because most likely those other bolts are just as bad and you will have just as hard a time replacing the pipe. I have to replace my 02 sensor and that thing is seized on there so i bought the magnaflow direct fit cat for my jeep because eventually i will need one and NAPA wanted $50 to install just the 02 if everything went smoothly... so yea, $90 (ebay) - about $30 for scrap seems like a deal to me.

Anyway welcome to the forum, I live in Marietta good to see another georgian.

just had to do that with mine.. went out boggin and got hung up on a tree root by the exhaust pipe before the cat and two hours later (after none of the "big bad chevy's" could pull me out) a buddy brought down the JCB loader and yanked me out but the pressure on the pipe when he pulled me literally stretched the bolts. but ya just drill out the bolts and replace.. took me about an hour to do.
