Default Need some advice Jeep starts but wont move when placed in gear.

Hey all,
So my 1995 Jeep Cherokee Sport automatic decided it no longer wants to move. It was running fine then I went to move it to a better parking position and when I shifted into reverse it dosnt move. When shifted into reverse the front left rides up as if the brakes are on. Then when I shift into drive it shifts forward an inch or two and then nothing again the front left rides up. Also I cannot push the jeep when in neutral. Am I looking at a transmission, drive train, or brake problem any ideas? Thanks for any help just seeing if I can get an idea before it gets towed to the repair shop tomorrow.

Stupid question, but is your parking brake on?

I just hope it doesn't cost more than $800 to fix. I only paid $1500 for it 2 years ago and I've gotten 15,000 miles out of it. It has ~228,000 miles on it now and was really hoping it would make it to 300000

It's strange how it was an "all of a sudden" thing. That's what makes me think it's something trivial like the parking brake.

Has anything felt off with it in the last 15,000? Like slipping tranny or engine problems? Has it been shifting cleanly? Have brakes been dragging?

It almost has to be if there were no prior symptoms.

something similar happened to mine a while back. it was a brake shoe stuck in the drum. i lost patience and floored it and the shoe snapped clean off. i shouldn't have floored it but you live and learn.

I'd say that front caliper stuck... It won't cost 800 bucks.

The jeep has always had slippage problems and about a month ago when I shifted into reverse nothing happened right away but when I gave it alittle gas it seemed to lock in and go. I was planning on getting the brakes checked this week too they should be close to needing replacement.
