need professional help...
Pun intended... OK I am pretty much over hauling my 87. not really but just did valve cover gasket, heater control valve exploded on me, I decided not to pull the head and do the head gasket. still need to pull oil pan and reseal it and put new oil pump in. but on to what i need help with right this second... So my trans leaks. Bought new filter and gasket, figured I took A/T in college should be easy... started pulling pan, realized book says nothing about a drain plug, figured no biggie.. bonus. on to real issue book said nothing about dipstick tube going strait into pan not top of trans. I can not get the pan out for the life of me. the tube goes strait up has very little wiggle room and the exhaust pipe is blocking me as well.
Has anyone seen this and can give me a pointer or two as to how i get the trans pan out?
P.S. it looks like my transfer case is leaking as the seem. should i throw things and set fire to it now?

Guy just did a write up on how he split the tube with a tube cutter like in plumbing to cut copper pipe with and then got a short piece of rubber hose and hose clamped the ends together so next time he replaces the filter he just loosens the lower clamp to seperate the tube and drop the pan.
