Default need new radiator

Hi all,I'm needing a new radiator for my 96 cherokee 4.0 auto tranny. I'm looking at a CSF 3 row,but I'm not sure it will fit . I only have about 1" from the rad. core to the fan clutch. I called radaitor barn and was told that the 3 row is 2 13/16 thick. So i need to know how every one is installing this rad. Do I need to remove my fan and install an electric one or is there some trick i can do to make it work. Any help on this would be great.
thanks

you don't need a three row. A three tow has actually been known to not cool as well as a 2-row on our engines due to the smaller fan size (harder for air to pass through).

I replaced mine a while back with a CFS 2-row and it works perfectly on and off road.

Try to get metal end tanks if possible

That makes sense about the air flow. Did you have to mod any think for the two row or was it just a drop in and go?

I have the 3 row with a electric fan and clutch fan. Both have shrouds so they work really well keeping the temp down. And no clearance issues.

That's just one of those things that one person comes up with and everyone else repeats. The 3 row outperforms the 2 row.

Give dirk at DPGoffroad a call and ask him why, he's the CSF guru, and he sells them at a pretty good price

I went with a CFS two row. I like the little bit of extra clearance when working on the front end. 3 row will outperform a two row, but the 2 row CFS outperforms stock. Either case make sure you replace the thermostat with the high end stant and flush the living hell out of the system. You can also get additives like red line water wetter and royal purple to help a little.
