Need a new head - best options?
I have an '01 with the 0331. I dont want to put another 0331 on there. I know there's a manufacturer that makes them strnger than the factory, I've read about them on here but cant remember the name.
I've also seen guys use heads from later year Wranglers from the JY. is '02 a safe year for it or do I need to go later? Also, is the head from a Grand Cherokee 4.0 useable?
Thanks guys.

Late 2001 and up are fine aslong as the have the provisions for your coil pack. Other will tell you to just make a bracket for it, but why do it half-assed like that when it can be done the right way plus it is part of grounding the c-pack yes you can use heads up to atleast I think 2008 you will have to do some double checking on this to make sure everything is in order for your motor.(But I do know it can be done).Even though the head are the same as far as valve size etc go, from the new 0331 casting's go, but good luck and I would like to know your outcome even if you pm me thanks and gl, I believe the gc heads will work but to cover any doubt double check over in the gc website.

Thanks guys. I'll check out hesco. I'd rather do this for as little as possible. My father in law is a really good mechanic, and Im not a COMPLETE moron with an engine (just a little bit of a moron), so I've got labor covered. But I am hoping to get a head for a reasonable price.
Appreciate the feedback.

Just put a Clearwater head on my 2000. Fully assembled and bulked up in the lands between valves. $450 shipped with no core. Went great and runs great now! You can find Clearwater Cylinder Heads store on eBay.
