Default need info (vacum disconect)

hello,

i have recently purchased a 92 jeep cherokee with 4.0 l i6 5 speed with a np 231 transfercase and a procomp 3" lift and 33x12.50x15 mudders on amarican racing rims. the lift was installed properly with extended brake lines and a few odds and ends.

where my problem lies is with the 4wheel drive part of it. it was driven for a year with no rear driveshaft (broken tab on yoke kept throwing u joint caps but i replaced the yoke) but when front wheel drive only from a dead stop starting out you could feel somthing binding then it would pop violently and it would disapear.

and also from dead stop jump on the gas its almost like the chain in the transfer case is worn

could it just be the transfer case chain or a severly worn ring and pinion or both?

thanks

John

92 and up are all non vac disco. Driving it that long with nothing but the front axle pulling had to take it's toll on the tcase. That is where I would start looking.
