I recently purchased a new starter for my 95 Grand Jeep Cherokee. They tested the old one but said it was smoking but new one is not working either. It is the same thing that happened with the old one. When I attempt to turn the car on it is one clicking noise and nothing happens.

Any ideas on what it could be? I have heard multiple people say it could be a loose or bad wire, but I really don't know where to begin with that. Any help will be appreciated.
