I installed a new to me ac compressor on saturday and don't have the bolt that holds the AC line to the compressor itself since the jeep had an ac pulley delete when I bought it. I've called three dealerships today and each one has said the same thing "we can't sell just the bolt, you have to buy the entire ac line kit". I'd prefer to not spend $100 bucks to get this bolt, so I called napa. They don't consider it a wear item so they don't have that specific bolt, but could help me find one like it if I had something to match it to. So instead of tying up a bunch of time and money I thought I'd check here and see if anyone has a picture of one, or can tell me the size/pitch etc.
Any help would be appreciated.

My '99 has an M8x1.25x30MM bolt. It's a flange head (mini head), but a standard head with an 8 MM washer will do, or standard flange head (12 MM wrench) will do. There was no Metric Class rating on my bolt head but I would try and get a class 8.8 bolt to replace it.

Awesome. This is what I was hoping to get in a reply. Just picked this up from napa... I'm assuming the non threaded top doesn't matter?

I know next to nothing about bolts so it could be. I showed the guy at napa your post and he emerged a minute later with this... Any way I can check at home before I thread it?

Do you have a Lowes, Ace, S&W hardware, or other store that has a good inventory of hardware near you? Normlly a good store will have a board hanging on the wall with SAE and Metric female and male screw thread samples you can screw that bolt into to determine what size and screw pitch it is.
What ever you do, don't force that bolt into the compressor hole. If it won't start cleanly, Stop.

I think I got it, although the lines don't fit flush to the compressor. I think I'm just going to bite the bullet and ease out of work early tomorrow to hit up a JY
