Default need help to remove cruise control

Going to remove the cruise control on jeep, has not been working and have never needed cruise control.
I know I need to remove the vacuum control unit on the intake and plug the vacuum line. But what about the electrical wires going to unit to turn signal switch, etc... do I need to do anything except just disconnect?
Also is there a controller unit under the dash for the cruise control?

Anyone familiar with this on a 87 Renix 4.0L?

Remove the control unit and disconnect everything. You should be good to go. Just leave the wiring harness there.

Cruise control box is located right under steering column. It's a yellow box and its harness has a line that's fused that simply plugs into the fuse block. The cruise control harness is separate from engine harness and body harness. Just unhook from speed sensor and brake light switch which are located up under dash. Same goes for the multi function stick. I fixed mine since it was simply a broken wire. It's worth having for those long drives which won't be happening very much considering the mileage xjs get.

So if I remove the control unit under the dash and just disconnect the wires to it, It will not effect anything else on the jeep?
