Default Need help putting Tom Woods rear DS back together

I was changing all my u-joints on my rear DS. Decided to re-grease the slip joint after reading some posts on clunking noises. I pulled the male/female joint apart, it took some effort. There seemed like a lot of grease still there.

I need help putting it back together, as the rubber seal on the female end makes it a tight fit. The male end is too wide to insert into the female end (insert "that's what she said" here). See pictures.

I've tried forcing it. Help appreciated.

I really hope you marked it before you pulled it apart.

Do you mean mark the DS alignment at the transfer case, and the rear differential?

No i mean the slip yoke. The two halves are slid together then balanced so if you pull it apart you should mark the two halves so you can line it back up when u slid them together. If you slip it back together a different way it will throw the drive shaft out of balance and most the time get vibrations

I overlooked that and figured it out after the fact. In any case, do you have hints how to assemble the joint together?

If it were me I'd stand it up vertically, try to line it up and hit it with a bfh
