Default NEED HELP!!! Jeep Won't Start

Ok, so I have an 92 XJ 4.0. I'm having issues getting it to start. Checked the timing, it's right. Checked the fuel supply, it's getting fuel. Checked the spark plugs for spark and it's got spark. Replaced the CPS. Nothing that I've done so far has resolved my issue. Any ideas??? Thanks guys!!!

Is it attempting to start over or is it just not cranking?

Ok, First of all I you said that you have spark and fuel. But do you have a strong blue spark? Any other color is not sufficient for the 4.0. And for the fuel did you just see if you had fuel in the rail or did you actually check the pressure? Your year should have 39psi + or - 5psi at the fuel rail. You need to check it with a mechanical pressure gauge.

Ok, I check the spark color and the fuel psi. I haven't checked the pressure and I didn't pay attention to the spark color. Thanks for the advise.

Ok guys, my bad. It's cranking/turning over just fine. Just won't start. The spark is good and the fuel psi is good.

You had a good spark and it was your CPS?

Yes ,you can have spark and it still won't start due to a CPS not sending/generating a usable and consistant signal to the ECM. Do the "AC" test. Cruiser has the step-by-step procedure in his pink link.

My bad, you have a 92 with a three wire cps. The years 87-90 use a two wire cps that can be checked with a common multi-meter. Maybe some others can help you better than I can.
