Default Need help identifying this part...

Hey, guys. Getting my '88 Comanche on the road for the first time since I bought it over a year ago.
The PO took pretty good care of it, except for this...

It fell down from the top of the transmission when I pulled the truck up to the garage door.
What is it? Where does it attach? Anyone with a picture of this attached to their truck? This is a BA 5/10.
I put this in the Cherokee forum because I'm pretty sure the two are similar in this part and I'm positive it will get more views here.

Thanks in advance.

Just a guess, but some type of breather hose for axle or transmission maybe? Follow the hose to the other end and see where it terminates. That should tell you. If you still can't make sense of it, a picture of where it terminates will probably let other members better figure it out.

Trans breather. It uses one of the top bellhousing bolts.

Looked closer and there are actually two nipples. One for trans. and one for transfer case?
No hose attached to the second one and this is a 2x4. Leave disconnected or look for another hose?
