Need help here. apparently im not smart enough
I had a caliper locking up on my jeep, so i figured time to do some matenence. I bought 2 new calipers, pads, rotors, and brake lines that are 7in longer than stock(off 1996 chevy). I got it all put on and no brakes. I bleed the **** out of it. I get hish when i push on the pedal (thinking booster). I can pump about 20 times and get them but they wont stay good after i let off. Im thinking bad booster but got questions
What i wanna know is why did i have brakes before and not now?
could the booster have been bad and thats what was making the caliper lock up?
Do the longer brake lines make that much of a difference pressure wise?
Any other ideas on whats wrong?

Quick question......Are the bleeder screws on top of the caliper, or are they on the bottom. You may have accidently installed the calipers on the wrong sides making them upside down and will not bleed out the air.

Not that longer lines will make a difference, but different I.D's will. bigger lines= more pressure. Your master cylinder may not be able to keep up. Of course I gotta ask, hwy the longer chevy brakes? Are you sure the new lines have the same flare fittings as the old? Just because they screw on doesn't mean same flare and you could sucking air.I would start with stock lines, rebleed and see how it is.Booster maybe if it is, youre brakes would be hard as a rock, meaning the booster isnt working

Put my new doestch dt 8000s on. figured id flex better. And i figured since i was going to draining the front lines anyway now would be a good time to put longer lines on.
homemade control arm drop brackets and upper and lower control arms
still got a little work to do but starting to flex well

don't be like toyota.. haha. brake boosters normaly make that hish sound and have to press the petal to the floor for it to slow the vehicle when they are going bad.

When a booster goes bad, you'll have a very hard pedal and it take a lot of effort from you to stop the vehicle.
