Default Need help! Heater issues!

I have a 91 XJ and my heater was only workin on high. So I took the heater control out to find that the switch and plug melted. I got a new switch and wired it back up with spade connectors. I also got a new blower motor and fan along with a new blower motor resistor. I replaced everything and for some reason it still only works on the high setting. Any ideas about my problem? Need to get this thing back on the road!!!

I also changed the blower fuse under the driver side dash.

This is usually due to a bad resistor. Did you check all your wiring carefully? If so, I'd be thinking the new resistor might be bad.

Well it figures....they did sell me a bad resistor.....so it all works great now.....if anyone else finds that their speed switch/plug is melted......don't try to wire it up half assed or jimmy rig it.......buy a new speed switch and connect the wires individually using spade terminals.........also replace blower motor and blower motor resistor.......it all starts with the blower motor because when it get's old it draws more power and heats the wires to the point of melting and also fries the resistor........if anybody needs help with this, private message me or post on this thread
