Default Need help with a few issues on my 97 cherokee..

Ok, so to start it off, threre is a clunk coming from the rear end out of the blue. Its not the gears, well im 99.9% sure its not. They were installed about 700-1000 miles ago, and no issues at all from them. Broken in etc.

The clunk is over bumps fast, highway bumps, speed bumps, going off of curbs. And you can really hear it when you let one wheel at a time off of the curb.

I have a rustys leaf lift in the rear, and from reading around people say it could be the bushings? They seem to be good to go though. I have BPEs in the rear and front. I dont think its them. Nor dot he u bolts look loose... The shocks are the Rc 2.2s, and I dont see any odd wear. I do see where the leaf pack as hit the rear bumper a bit ( unsure what its called.. ) but its all rusty, so I know its not current, as I stated this is a new out of the blue noise.

Also, if I rock the car above the rear wheel, I can hear the brake drum kinda make a knock noise. Now this isnt the clunk I hear, but its another one.. Is it normal? Its not like BOOM, but you can :hear: it...

So what Im looking for is anyone that can tell me the torque values of the various things I should check. And if there is anything else that I should look into..

Lastly whats up with that brake drum noise?

Do you have a rear sway bar ? Mine clunked like mad over bumps. Took me months to figure it out. If you still have a rear sway bar just remove it,. you don,t need it

No. Your brake shouldn't clunk when you rock the jeep. If you have any doubts and are sure its coming from the brake haul that wheel off and look. Doesn't cost you anything. Yet...
