Actually, there's probably a better way to wire that. Since we probably don't want the e-fan to kill the battery, we don't want it to be able to run if the Jeep isn't running.

Easy way to make that happen is to supply power to the switch from a port on the inside fuse box that is hot only when the ignition is on.

Do all your grounding as before, out by the fan where the relay is mounted.

This way, when the ignition is off, there can be no power to the relay coil, so even if the switch is accidentally left on, the fan will be turned off when the ignition is turned off.

I just did this to my '97, and I should probably write it up. I did it a little differently than most do it, and I think it's a better approach.

Now, not to play devil's advocate here... But if your fan clutch is functioning properly(assuming you have a shroud) perhaps airflow is not the problem in your cooling system?

When caught in a thunderstorm, you get cold because you're wet. A scarf will prove to be a lousy substitute for an umbrella.

Yes I know that may not be the problem, but an extra fan won't hurt. I'm gonna replace the clutch fan soon, I have a new thermostat, just waiting to get a replacement housing and then gonna burp the system and I'll hope everything will be good.

I was planning on doing something like that so it wouldn't kill the battery if I forgot to turn it off. Could you do a write up? I would love that. Also it's got the idiot light cluster, and I just picked up a set f gauges that are coolant temp, voltage, and oil pressure at a car show, and also while looking at that booth a found an accessory fan wiring harness, it'd generic but it has the wires already connected to everything on the relay I just have to decide placement and hook it up! Next I need a tac cause I would like to know my rpms. And finally might get a light bar and a bumper soon.

Dont Mj 4 cyl have fan in center ? Unlike xj with left and right. Fan shroud and good clutch should be plenty.

I thought it was 4cyl ooopppsss....Why not just hook it up to factory plug. And install a over ride switch ? Tap into temp switch on radiator with a on/on switch and your done. Sweet looking ride by the way.
