To get a front end alignment after replacing the front axle joints??

don't know what joints you are talking about, but the only way i can see the need for an alignment is if you bent a knuckle and they installed adjustable ball joints to compensate for it.

u joints have absolutely nothing to do with front end alignment

not the case, the CV or steering U joints (whichever you call them) have worn out on the passenger side...Had them done by a guy a couple years ago who apparently used the Chinese OEM variety, of course it was still stock when that happened. Since then Ive added a couple inches, bigger tires and heavier rims...Its no surprise but I was curious because some shops are insisting that it be done when I had reservations about needing to put it on an alignment rack...

Nah like KTM said if it's just swapping out the axle u-joints no need for an alignment. None of the steering should be coming off.

no b/c you dont shift your front axle at all. if you install a new steering component like a tracbar where you re-center the axle then yes you need an alignment.
