Mystery Clunk?
I have a 92 Cherokee Laredo, makes a rather loud clunk when steering lock to lock. Checked the ball joints, they're solid, checked the sway bar, it's solid. Shocks are solid as well. The clunk sounds like it's coming from the steering shaft, but behind the firewall, under the wiper motor. Any ideas on what that could possibly be, I'm scratching my head on this one.

Scratch that, I found it, the noise seems to be coming from behind that, it looks solid when steering, would there be anything further back, behind the fender maybe?

This noise is coming from much farther back, almost sounds like it's behind the steering rod knuckle at the firewall, practically behind the gauges or under the steering column? The traction bar looks great, the bushing are still fairly new. It's starting to clunk in left or right of center, before the lock.
