Anyone have any idea what this stuff is and how I get ride of it? It will blow out of the vents into drinks and peoples faces. I always thought it was the cabin air filter disintegrating but I've been told XJs don't have them (Which never made much sense to me). Same thing happened in an old car I used to have too.

That's the blend door stripping.
I don't think there's much of a solution besides taking the whole thing apart to remove the rest of it.

 

Yeah well if you're using the phone app it frequently malfunctions.
