I have a 2000 xj se that seems to have rolled out of the factory minus a door jam switch for the drivers side rear door. There was a rubber plug in its place. The short harness was missing and the hole was still painted. Went and grabbed a switch and jumper harness and now i get my dome lights when i open that door. Just thought it was weird.

sounds like it quit working - pretty common on the driver door - and the PO pulled it and put in the plug.

Its weird that the jumper wire was gone and no paint was missing. Plus it was the rear left door.

the body gets painted before anything else so that would explain the paint being there. the driver rear tends to be the one that gets opened more often than the passenger rear. the jumper wire being gone - that one's weird, but it'd be more weird for it to not be installed from the factory.

I don't have switches on either rear door.

Neither do I. I wish I did. But I don't.
