Default Is my transfer case shot? Urgent pleaee help

What I THOUGHT was my tranny blowing may be wrong. After putting a junkyard replacement Tranny in my jeep it still doesn't want to move. The shop I left it at says it may be my transfer case but they're not sure.
Could it be the replacement tranny I got is garbage? Possibly some computer is broken?
The guy told me it should like it's going into gear and park but it just wont move in any gear AT ALL. It does roll no problem though.
Please this thing is eating up all my money I need to get it on the road again

Are they certain the transfer case isn't in Neutral? Linkage could be disconected and in neutral.

Sounds like the pump ain't pumping. I would unhook a cooler line to see if its pumping. My buddies tj did the same thing, but it had been sitting for 3 yrs before he bought it, (It's a 32rh). We just unhooked the lines and it eventually started puking...it was submerged and the po just parked it....this is what came out.

a tranny shop could just diagnose it for you, then decide if you want to do the work...dunno, good luck dude.

Or your tcase is shot...no weird noises?

id say check that for sure, it could be misaligned so it says its in a drive gear when really its in neutral, linkage could be binding up and keeping it in neutral or linkage could be completely disconnected and in neutral.

I'm going to have them check that out tomorrow. I PRAY thats what the problem is. Its a transmission specialist shop and they said something like the shaft isn't moving AT ALL. He said he took the transfer case off to see if that was the problem and he confirmed it was the transmission. I'm at a loss for words right now

Basically this is how i stand. I bought this jeep for winter and to do deliveries in. Paid 750 and it was in bad condition, i brought it back to life and now the tranny blew on the highway.

Went to a junkyard and bought a tranny for 275, then the shop i took it to charged me 450 to pull out the old one and put a new one in. They got me a new flexplate for 89 (old one was visibly cracked) and that was the end of it...... so i thought. It still wont move/do anything at ALL so they told me to get another tranny and they'll only charge me 300 for the labor on this one. I'm not rich, i'm 18 and i work at a resturant delivering food so i'm kinda just stuck right now.

Not sure what to do

They should be able to tell you at least what's wrong with the current one!

Ya but why? Valve body? Pump? Something specific? If that's all they can tell you, take it somewhere else.

They didn't actually open it up, I paid them to install it thats it. He said it pretty clearly "something inside is broken" I'm going to head over there tomorrow and ask if they checked the transfer case linkage. He told me the tranny and idle did change from putting it in drive and park like it wanted to work.

From the looks of it i'm going to end up bringing it to aamco to have them rebuild it....

This things turning into a bigger headache than i thought. This guy seems legit and everything and i'm praying hes not screwing me over. If its something stupid i'm going to be mad.
What else could it be?

When he said that the tranny changed noises shifting from park to drive i thought it could be the transfer case, maybe the PO knew it was going which is why he took off the front driveshaft and didn't say anything

Valve body, converter, oil filter...all I can say dude. Wish I could look myself...from what you said earlier (changes noise when shifted into gear)I'm guessing valve body, or plugged tranny filter...post up what the shop eventually finds out.

He said he changed the filter and gasket. I really doubt he's lying, he wont gain anything having my jeep sitting in his shop. He told me he just wanted to finish it up me pay him and be done with it.
