Is my transfer case shot?
So, I just finished installing a Serious Offroad long arm kit, a HD Offroad low profile shackle relocstion bracket, and some JKS discos. I hopped in to go for a test drive and I'm getting bad growling and a vibration coming from the driveline. My first thought was that I needed a SYE (had the T case dropped before) or, the caster angle was off.
I started on the road to diagnosing it. I checked the caster angle and that comes back at 5*. I then put it up on jack stands and got up to speed. Dang thing sounds like its going to fall apart! I pulled the front and rear driveshafts seperately one at a time. It still continues to growl and vibrate. So that kinda rules out the lack of a SYE and caster angle.
Not much else left that they shafts have in common except the t-case. Could the chain have slop? Not sure what else to check.

That's a good question. You know I've never looked. The Jeeps at my brothers across town. I won't be able to check them till Monday. I wouldnt have thought to check those. I never had a problem before. I'd love to not have to a rebuild on the transfer case right now if I donn't have to.
