Default my poor engine

k well my rig is smoking out of the tail pipe. at first i thought maybe it was just cause i noticed it after a cold start. but im still noticing it on and off...why am i burning oil? I know it could be piston rings.. which im really hoping its not.. but are there any other potetially cheaper explinations?

First start off with what type of smoke? Blue is usually oil, white is typically coolant. Next, how is the motor running? I'd say once you decipher those, your next best bet is going to be doing a compression test. See if you have level compression across all 6 cylinders.
