HEY. so this has been happening the last 2 weeks.

I drive down the road, literally 2 minutes down the road my car jerks forward and the rpm gauge goes nuts, will i was going maybe 20mph. I pulled over, and the car dies. I wait maybe 10 minutes, and the car starts back up (sounded like crap though at the start). I drove home.

The same thing keeps happening every day... but if i dont pull over it doesnt die. So ive just been giving it more gas when it does this. The first two times it happened.... i found the vaccum tubes to be unplugged and after plugging it in the jeep would run fine for the next few days. But theres no more leaks in the vacumm... from what i can tell at least.

Ive also noticed that the idle RPM is higher than normal, and while pulled over if i use the blinkers, the lights dont blink so maybe something electrical has something to do with it??? Idk.

Keep in mind that there is absolutely no lights that came up on the dash the entire time... Im clueless.

What year, engine, and transmission? Have you scanned for any codes? (non-Renix)

2000 only came with two transmissions - manual and automatic

When you say the RPM gauge goes nuts, is this just the gauge or does the engine increase in speed? Is it making any sounds?

Have you read any information on here about cleaning the throttle body and IAC?
