Default MY JEEP IS HAUNTED! or it just has Radio with a mind of its own.

Last night at 3am I woke up to the sound of KFI radio blaring from the drive way outside my house. My stock AM radio was on and very loud! It was not on at 10pm (and the car had not been touched almost 6 hours before that) and with the volume as high as it I definitely would have heard it way before 3 am if it had been stuck on the whole time. All the doors were still locked and the ignition was all the way off when I got in it to turn the radio off. I tried to start it right after to check if it had run down the battery but it started right up so no issues there. I just turned the radio to the off position and went back to bed. I'm kind of worried, I figure its an electrical thing but I can't really find much info on it. Has anyone else had this issue? Or am I the only luck one?

That sounds kinda strange. But maybe your radio just malfunctioned.
it doe's have power even with the ignition off for memory presets and clock but should not work until ignition is on.
I think it's something internal in the radio. or you just have a Ghost

If it happens again replace the radio or just wire the power to the radio to a toggle switch

They are called "Gribblits" (being serious) I was a stereo tech for many many...Well a long time and seen this happen allot. There are usually 2 PC boards in the older car stereos and they separate sometimes due to age/wheeling ETC. You can either remember to shut it off fully or replace it with a different one and sometimes that doesn't even work (first option)...Tj

Things should be ok unless the seat starts ratcheting itself forward crushing you between the seat back and steering wheel. Oh wait that was Christine.

Damn, you beat me to it.

Good book, though.

I'd like my XJ, or any of my vehicles, to be able to defend itself in the event of an intruder.
