Okay guys, Got some plans If I can do it soon enough. I found a pre 96 5 speed 4wd cherokee that I can score for around 850.00 or so. Another thing I am looking at maybe using the motor from it also but using my 99 intake on it. Or maybe I will get the 5speed XJ and get another spare 97+ motor also. My question is just generally what am I going to need to do? I know the parts I need basically but I wonder about the computer issues mixing up so many parts. Thats the only part that bothers me.

 

No one? I think my Engine is just getting tired. Dont have the get up and go like it did and that dont work well with pulling a trailer all the time with 2 fourwheelers on it.

I have read that the ECU can be tricked. An auto ecu can be used to go to 5 speed but an auto wont work with an 5 speed ecu. Right? I thought I had a Donor 5 speed XJ scored yesterday but it didnt happen. Im going to get one soon as I can. Driving my bro in laws 97 5-Speed XJ has spoiled me. I dont think it will be that bad to switch to a manual. I will update this thread as it progresses, If it does.
