My '01 w/ high pinion knocks when turning.
I'm the 2nd owner of this previously government owned XJ that's stock minus the high pinion front axle D-30.
I've had the XJ now for about 4 years and the front knocks when turning since I bought it. It sounds like a bad c/v axle on a FWD car. It has about 79,xxx miles. I took it to multible shops including off road shops. Pulled the cover off and all is good inside. It's open axle. Some of the shops said it may be a bad axle shaft. Some shops say it's normal since it's a high pinon/reverse cut. 4-wheel drive does work. So know I'm just lost on what it may be. But in the end, all the shops just give me the
