The stock muffler just isn't doing it for me, so I'm debating between a glass-pack, or just some pipe form Home Depot. From videos I've seen, the regular pipe sounds throatier than the glass-pack with the 4.0L. I want it to sound deep and aggressive, but not like any of those rice-burner pansies. Any help would be great.

straight pipe is LOUD!! and boy does it resonate! but i finally got a glasspack and its pretty loud on the outside and quiet on the inside (to me haha)
well, exhaust piping aint cheap for the real deal. i dont personally like the way thoese cherry bomb's sound. honestly, the sound is cheap cuase the pipe is cheap... inho... my next thought is that while eliminating pack preasure is good because it allows your engine to run less restricted. but you dont want to simply decrease back preasure without increasing delivery. air-fuel-spark. all 3 need to be relative to each other. other wise youll be the guy who has to keep his foot on the gas at a stop because if rpm's drop, then car stalls. seen it, hate it, makes me wanna drive over the iddy ricer who 1.8L engine with what im assuming is like 90HP at the crank... HA! ricers. i think i used tro be one... had a 93 honda del slo i bought that was fully riced: adj. coil overs, (the best part on it) body kit, rims, spoiler, tail lights and an intake! woo hoo. once i stripped off all that goofy ****, threw the stock rims on and pulled the pass. seat, dash and all palastic panneling i could, that thing wasnt fast, but it was quick and it was stupid fast in the corners. even at the end, with the rear sus. tops blown out!!!
huh. i stand corrected (again... hey, its a process...) the glasspack sound decent!... i do like the way mine sounds with just a higher flowing resonator/cat back area. its NOTHING preformance, or sporty, or there for more hp, opr anything really, just like that growly noise. my mom jumps in for the first time and says "oh, your exhaust is loud, is it bad?" "no." i reply.

I run a 27 3/4" long cherry bomb glasspack. I've heard tons of exhausts on 4.0's from straight to turbo and mine is the deepest. But as you probably know, 4.0's aren't so deep in the higher rpm's.

I got a flowmaster super 40 a dual chamber turn down it sounds deep and aggressive I like it very much it was cheap too the turn down makes it alot louder than having the stock tail pipe out the rear but it's pretty loud because of the sound bouncing off the ground
