I want to install a glasspack or a turbo muffler on my '94 XJ. But different part stores are giving me different measurements on the inlet and outlet diameters of the muffler. So is it 2 1/4" on both ends? Or 2 1/4" in and 2" out?

 

They should be the same. Two inches sounds to small to me... When I did my exhaust on my xj I went with 2.5 inches. Go with 2 1/4.

 

It is the same on both ends.

2.25" on my 98 XJ but I could swear I had a 2.5" exhaust on my 94.... Can't be sure what the 94 had.

 

Our stock '98 was 2.5" ahead of the cat and 2.25" after including both ends of the muff.

 

I measured it with a micrometer. It is 2 1/4 in and 2 out. Weird.
