I really like the one I just bought and had installed last Friday.

Flowmaster Super 44 "Off Road" Nice rumble, but not loud at all.

Borla and Bassani are nice, but very spendy. You can get the same tone from lower priced mufflers.

If you want to spend that kind of money, go for a aero turbine muffler.

If you want stealth mode, I assume you want Magnaflow from what I've read. How much are those usually cat back installed?

I have had both and the flowmaster just sounds better. Good for car alarms too.

I sill say I always liked the Super-Turbo. they're cheap and avail in a ton of configurations.

BTW...Y'all do realize that if you go on a muffler site, they usually show a cut-away of the muffler right?

So, with this information, and a little 110 welder, some fab skills, and some time and patience, you can make your own...

(HINT: use a section of PVC piping to make your rounded bends on the main shell)

Try a Flow Tech! They look and are built like a FM, nice mellow sound, not too loud. and are about 1/2 the price! I got mine from www.performancepeddler.com Which is acutally Motown Automotive here in MI. I got the muffler, a new cat and a handful of clamps for <$100.

I don't think so, but honestly all I hear is BFG 32" tires after 40 mph.

i am running no cat w/ supper 44 FM its awsome very nice rumble. my buddy runs FM 40 w/ no cat his is a little bit louder but not as deep as mine we both have a turndown right off the FM i would choose flowmaster but then again ive never heard a magna on a xj. supper 44 ran me 93 bucks at advance auto after taxes. went to a local muffler shop and got 3 foot of pipe for 10 bucks. turn down was about 10 the hanger was about 5 and welded it up myself and put it on so ive spent about 125 on my exaust.
