not to be a smart @ss, but if the mud didn't hurt it... lol. Hosing will be just fine, just don't concentrate on any major electrical components. Other than that you are fine. Spraying over electrical is fine, just don't focus on it.

I used the steamer at my school to clean off my engine it's pretty hard to screw stuff up. If your lucky it will start If not its usually water in the distributer let it sit for a while and let the water dry up.

Trick I once used. Lawn sprinkler under the area to be de-mudded. Use one that has the cone pattern and was designed to be connected by short hoses to others. Worked best for me but surely others will work too. Use a low pressure setting and just let it set for a while, more than 5 minutes. I let it soak for at least a couple hours in the yard.

DISCLAIMER: If conducted in the yard, significant other may become enraged! I have my own well so don't have to worry about code enforcement. Additionally I have a few acres with no Home Owners Association *****.

Just take it to a car wash with a pressure hose and blow it all away. stay about 1-2 feet back and blast it off. just don't spray directly on the intake(if its open filter) alternator or distributor. I spray mine off once a month. I also like to keep it running while I spray it down.

Important thing it to have the engine running while power washing, the motor will tell you where it doesnt like to be sprayed

Spray it down with a heavy duty oven cleaner and let it soak, then crank it up at the carwash as mentioned and spray it off

You will know, it may try and spit and sputter, so stop and spray somewhere else and let it clear it self up, u may have gotten water in something that didnt like it. thats why u leave it running while u do it
