Default Moved, 0ft to 4000ft elevation. Questions

So I just moved from the Oregon Coast, basically sea level, to Carson City, Nevada, around 4000ft. I towed the jeep up here behind are moving truck. I know how the air is thinner the higher you go up and this directly effects my fuel to air ratio. I just started my xj the other day and to me it sounds quiter, sluggish and just werid. Is this all due to the change in elevation or is it all in my head.... If its because of the change in elevation will my 93 cherokee adjust itself to the new enviroment. I've ran it a couple times and I havent noticed any difference. Is there something I can adjust manuely? Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks guys.

Everyones vehicle is more sluggish at that altitude unless you have a turbo on it. That is why they were originally invented in WWII, so our airplanes could fly higher than the Japanese planes. I used to live at Tahoe which is even higher. You will just have to live with it unless you regear.

This is the automotive equivalent of a 20 day smoking habit!

Yet another perk of where I live is its about 45 feet above sea level. Gotta love the Florida Gulf Coast.

oh darn, thats what I thought. Well regearing is something that I still need to do but a little out of my price range right now. I have a 00+ intake manifold that I havent installed yet, I think I'll throw that on with some APN headers just for good measure while the manifold is off. I did finally get my tax return after waiting for ever . Anyways my cherokee is actually starting to sound a little better, especially at start up, sounds like it used too. It just needed some time to adjust. Thanks for the tips, I guess I gotta get used to my xj having a little less power though

on the renix jeeps air fuel ratio is adjusted every time you reach WOT according to the altitude, this is done by measuring atmospheric pressure via the map sensor. I don't know if it is the same with Chrysler jeeps.
