Default motor quiting

hey all,
96 4.0 231tc.. ~110,000 miles.. been running like a top..till the other day. Was hard to start the other morning... after I stood on the gas pedal and let it crank for a few seconds it sputtered to a start and ran fine for a day or two.. then just a while ago it started without a hitch but died at a light... started again after standing on the gas.. died started again and I was able to limp her home, some sputters and some perfectly fine running.. I would like to ask the gurus here what they would suspect and how to proceed. I have been given awesome advice here recently and am very thankful. Recently I did a tranny drain and fill and an unnecessary (I believe) pan drop and filter replacement. Could that have anything to do with it... ? I'm suspecting a fuel delivery issue but there are wise minds here and I would greatly appriciate some advice. thanks!!

checking back in. Have the throttle body off and the IAC (?) sensor out.. cleaning it.. I did not find an o-ring where I thought one should be, and there is a bit of play in the sensor dealeo that goes in the hole... I'm sure there is a joke in this.. .. does a little bit of play make the dickie thing bad? or ??? and here is my jeep.. with Willie Nelson
