Default more interior light questions

okay, so i posted the other night about how my interior lights wont turn off. I have played with it some more and have come up with a few new things. Starting with the lights on and all doors shut/headlight switch off, I remove the fuse under the hood and the lights turn off. I re-install the fuse and the lights remain off. I can then open and shut the passenger doors a number of times with the lights functioning properly. However, if I try and open and close the driver door or tailgate the lights come on and stay on. I pull the fuse again and try with the headlight switch, same thing after several cycles the lights will stay on. The rear passenger door I can open and close as many times as I wish and the lights function properly. On some occasions starting with the lights on I disconnect all four door switches and the headlight switch and tailgate switch and then pull the fuse and reinstall only for the lights to come back on. I have a haynes repair manual for cherokees up to 2000 but I am no good at reading the wire diagram in the back.
