More advanced folks needed...94 4.0
So I am in the process of diagnosing and fixing the 94 4.0 cherokee...
So far CPS was first thought, I tested and had no ohms show up (screen stays in default open circuit view)...
Called parts house to find my CPS is still under warranty so I crawled under to have better access to the bolts holding it to bell housing...
I FOUND THAT PUPPIES CHEWED UP MY HARNESS GOING TO THE LOW, DRIVER SIDE SENSOR ON AUTO TRANS... sensor is a 3 wire...
I seperated all the wires and cranked and it started...
Does it sound like this issue could cause the no running issue?
Brent

Daughter just got back with wire, connectors and liquid e-tape...
Gonna splice that mess right now but still don't answer the "open" screen on DVM check of CPS prongs unless that is normal for my CPS...

Okay... so here is where we stand...
I spliced the trans wires... Jeep fires and runs fine in driveway... I unhooked neg batt lead (new as well) and arced it (no arc of course just a term) across pos lead in attempt to wipe out old codes per google search... Now I no longer have the code# 11 just the 12, 15 and 55...
So can I rule out a bad CPS? Could open or shorted circuit on the leads to trans sensor cause no signal to CPS?
Brent... goin' fer a test drive for a few...
