Default Moog Sway Bar Bushings....?

I just replaced the SB links and the bushings on the frame with Moog parts for the second time in 3 years. Would the polyurethane bushings fare any better? The factory ones lasted nearly 100K. The Moog bushings only lasted half as long if that....

I think this is the first time I've ever heard of the Moogs failing that fast. Polys are great, will last forever but are more expensive and WILL squeak/groan. Just keep them lubed with proper poly bushing lube.

I remember reading a while back someone advising to use poly on the SB....but I used Moog bushings all around on my 1993 Mercury Cougar and loved them! It all that aside I've also read that Moog was a good substitute for OEM as well.

In all fairness to Moog, it is possible that other parts that needed replacement accelerated the bushings demise. I did replace all the control arms as well as the track bar. They were in pretty rough shape.......

I agree that may well be the contributing factor for early failure. Usually Moog parts are top notch and I use them on all of mine for replacements.

Theory; If you are offroading more often and not disconnecting the swaybar, bushings will wear faster and can even split in half.
Also, bushings from 20 years ago used natural rubber more often.
