Default Moabs + 225/75/16 Issue

Good afternoon gents,

So I may / may not have an issue and wanted to get all of your opinions. I ordered 5 Goodyear Wrangler MTRs in 225/75/16 to go on my recently acquired 16x8 Moabs. After dropping my car off to get the tires installed they tell me they can't get the tire to bead. I tell them to forget about it and put on the old wheels tires. When I go to pickup my truck they tell me they can do it, they just need more time. I drop the truck off a second time.

Long story short, they ended up putting inner tubes in my tires so that they would hold the seat (without telling me they had to do this). They are saying that after a couple of weeks they will take the tubes out and everything should be fine. Anyone ever heard of this? Think I'll be ok?? The tires look fine, I just don't want to have a blow out.

Sounds weird... I have 245x75x16 MT/R's on 16" Moab rims on my Jeep. That was the stock size for the 2006 Wrangler Rubicon.

What was their explanation for putting the tubes in?

They said they couldn't get the tire to stretch enough to fit the 8 inch rim because the sidewalls were very strong. They said on a 7.5 inch rim it would have been fine. It is weird, and if I knew this was going to happen I would have bought slightly wider tires (I didn't want rubbing) now I am stuck with them (they wern't cheap). They also said in a couple of weeks they will take the inner tubes out after the tires have "loosened up" a bit. Now I am worried that I won't be able to air them down. The tires look great, and seem to fit the rim fine. Maybe they are just amatuers (Mavis Tire).

Thanks for your response.
