86 2.5l has a TBI....
the 2.8l V-stink has one of three carbs
The diesel is an indirect injection model.
This is for US/Canada spec Comanches. There are some South American/Export models running around that are different..
And my inability to properly operate the internet is why I am not an IT guy... I don't claim to be one, nor do I want to be one.... and I REALLY have no idea how I managed to do that...
I agree.
as for going with 4x4 off the bat.
well...that MJ looks pretty clean. finding a clean MJ is hard...so you take what you can get.
a 4x4 conversion takes a matter of hours given proper preperation prior to putting the entire truck in the shop and tearing it apart.
listen to what 89eliminator says. he knows these MJ's very well now as do I. if you have comanche specific questions, the best place you can go is really comancheclub.com/forums and talk to the guys there about it.

I had an 85 xj with a carb.. not sure if it was the same for the mj though.
To me the major advantage to wheeling a MJ is the space. The down side is the over all length which makes it hard sometimes to follow the shorter rigs, but the advantage comes in on steep inclines that are off camber. Several times I have seen shorter rigs go on thier side, wher I went up with lil or no issue.
I dont know where you all are from, they are getting harder to find, but I can lay my hands on about 3 that are for sale at the moment, just no money.
If I was looking to find a builder rig/ trail beater, I would want to find the 2 wd one. More then likely you are going to change lots of parts anyways, so why pay the price for the 4x4, plus most of the 2wd ones were not beat to death.
