What do I need to know about the MJ Dana 44 to an XJ? I'm assuming they are direct bolt-ins. Amirite? Supposedly, this one will be comming out of an 89 MJ with the 4 cylinder motor. Does that come with 4.11 gears? I will plan to post the numbers on the tag if I can find one.

Please help me figure out if this is a good option.

Mj d44's are mounted on top of springs so you have to take the perces off and mount on top of housing to fit on the xj.
or you can buy a kit that will leave them where they are and alow you to mount on the xj leafs. if you do not weld.
yes more then likly it has 4;10s for gears but I have had a lot of mjs with the 4 banger that had 3:55's.. you will have to pull the cover and look at the gear if the tag is gone..

you need new perches and shock mounts welded on. also, i have never seen a 44 come out of a 4cyl MJ.
