You could put in your old one as a test as that one gave you only intermittent symptoms. If your XJ starts with your old crank sensor, then the new sensor you had put is is DOA.
Its not mopar and I didn't pay much for it. It came in quicker than the mopar and I wanted to see if it worked. The mopar sensor won't be here till the 9th.

With my old sensor back in it will idle at 1000 rpms for a bit, misfire a bunch and then die. Also my interior lights do not work anymore when I try to turn them on. I'm convinced my Cherokee is possessed at this point.

Default New crank sensor

The new Mopar crank sensor fixed the issue. Jeep starts up and runs fine but my interior lights still don't work. Not on the dash or anything and all the fuses are good.
