Hey all,
Im having an issue with my 96 Cherokee. I ran it with a scan tool and its pulling the codes for random misfires and misfire from cylinder 1-5.
I ran a dry compression test and cylinder one had around 80 psi while all the other had around 180 psi.
I replaced all the plugs and wires.
I then checked blow by and theres no air pushing out of the oil filler hole.
so im wondering if theres anything else I can check before I figure a way to start ripping the engine apart.
Thanks for all your help

If you have a compressor & leakdown tester, use that to pinpoint where your compression is going. If you don't, add a little oil (enough to coat the walls)to cyl #1 and see if compression comes up significantly. If it does, the rings are worn out. If not, the compression is leaking into the cooling system, valves, head, etc. having 180psi in 2-6 and only 80 in 1 is definitely enough to cause an imbalance & misfire.
