Question Mind of its own

My jeep has a new problem. Ill be driving up the road and all of a sudden the engine just completely cuts out. Some times it will starts right up and sometimes it has to sit for a few minutes then it starts again. When it dose start its like nothing ever happened. At first i thought it ran out of gas because i haven't figured out why the gages stopped working yet. But it did it the other day with a full tank of gas. I think its something electrical but not sure what usually coil and spark problems don't fix them selfs instantly. Its not consistent either sometimes it happens three time in a row and sometimes it good for hours. What could it be.

There are alot of people with more experience than me on here, but my 94 Dakota was doing the same thing. Engine was intermittently cutting out. It may just jerk and go right back to running, or cut out completely. Over a couple days till i could get it into the shop, i thought it would tear the drive train out of it when it cut out and back in. My problem turned out to be an O2 sensor going bad. I dont know if they all do this on the Jeep's but changing that one worked for me. Good luck and let us know what helps.

I always wanna say unplug and replug in your CPS. But I would like to know as many more details as you can recall. When you saying cutting out- does it Die on ya?

Also How long have you add the guage problem I am thinking the two probably arn't related. Guage problems are usually fixed with checking the wiring harness connection at the back of the cluster.

Intermittent no start is a common CPS issue and it can cuase cutting out even while driving although it can drive perfect sometimes too. Start there with this issue since you don't even have to buy anything.

Had same problem here, for no reason it would just die and start right back up. I replaced the CPS and it stopped...Tj
