Ok I'm new and any help would be great if I'm posting in the right area... anywho I have had my xj for 5 Years and the other day I noticed a sticker on my block. Puzzled at what it I was I cleaned it and it said remanufactured engine! What huh? All this time I thought my Jeep was original with 230,000 miles but she's been lieing to me all these years. But my point is there are production numbers on the sticker is there anyway to figure out when this motor was put in and how many miles ago?

 

Run the Vin and locate the prior owner... lol... no way else boss... maybe get a manufacture date but that's about it... and alot ofwork... call Jeep and give them your vin... see if they did it...

 

I know the previous owner and he's had it since 130,000 or so I was gonna call a dealer and see if they knew anything. Thanks

 

Good luck, but you will probably get nowhere. Not a lot of incentive for the dealer to help you out.
