Metal tubes sticking out of my Cherokee's bell housing
Greetings!
I'm new here and recently inquired on this subject and saw there were some reactions and then had some fumble mishap and then some log in trouble and now I can't even seem to locate the conversation that I'd begun but I would like to thank everyone for their input and say that you are right, slave cylinder hydraulic line and bleeder valve. I realized right after I'd posted. At any rate, thank you all, whoever you are.
Additionally, I am trying to get to the bottom of a few issues with my new - to - me '88 XJ. It has the 4.0, manual 5 spd and 4WD. It appears to have all the typical, ie: DW, stuck in 4 hi w/ PT4WD light on.
the front corner turn signals, dash lights, tail lights and speedometer don't work. The heater doesn't respond at all and there's a hell of a lot of heat coming up through the tranny hump... but aside from that... and the rattle - can paint job, she's great!
I'm gradually trying to get through the usual fixes that I've been reading about but not a lot of luck so far. Thinking how great she'll be when all the becoming a daily driver stuff comes together. So ugly. I'm stoked.

Reason: redundancy
nice jeep mister! not bad rattle can paint! Tubes at bell house might be the remains of a defunked vacuum servo line? Heater is operated by vacuum servo. Maybe that is why heater is not working right?
Hot air thru the tunnel might mean a cover on the shiftlevers is missing or not installed right.

Re: the heater. Is that the infamous heater control valve. I've gone through about 3 of those things.
I have done tons of repair/ replacement on this thing ('88 XJ) like rebuilding the front end, replaced windshield, vacuum system electrical repairs etc and am now down to still no dash lights, only tach functions properly in instrument panel, a few leaky seals/ gaskets to replace and the tilt wheel bolts in my steering column are getting loose. The rest is cosmetic or accessory. Setting up cargo area for tools and camping/travel. Gradually coming along. So much nicer to drive now.
