Default Melted blower switch

Hello! I am new to the forum, and after poking around for a bit like what I see!

I have a 97 XJ with three inches of lift. The blower stopped working, I can feel heat coming out of the vents but that is all. I replaced the blower panel, the other switches look fine, but the blower one was partially melted inside as well as the harness that connects to it. I replaced both, but still nothing. It is getting power as the panel lighting still works.

Anyone have this problem or a solution?

Chris

Yep, its a common problem for newer Cherokees. Search for no heat threads, you'll find your answer.

I think it was ol''blue who pointed me to the correct link.

Hey Chris, Welcome to CF.
Here's a link about that problem. It's about the WJ, but the problem is the same. http://www.wjjeeps.com/blower_motor.htm

Anyone have this problem or a solution?the panel light is not on the same circut or fuse as the blower switch

Chris
the panel light is a different fuse than the switch

It is a common problem throughout the range of XJs. There is a lot of amperage going through the switch and eventually they fail. You will need to replace the switch. You can substitute spade connectors for the end of the harness if you want
