Default Maybe a stupid wheel question

I have the chance to buy some BFG All Terrains that are mounted on stock Ranger wheels for $500 with 95% tread. The BFG's are 31x10.50. I plan on doing a bastard pack/new coil lift in the spring for roughly 3".

The question is: Am I going to run into too much of a rubbing problem with stock Ranger wheels? Not talking about the wells, but the control arms and such.

I know Ranger wheels will fit on an XJ, but with increased tire size, I'm not sure what problems I'll run into.

If it matters, 2001 Sport 4door.

Thanks
Steve

Everything I can find says the backspacing is 4 in for the stock rims. I guess I have to pass on this deal. I can't afford to get other rims too.

Stock should around 4in backspacing as well. I don't remember what it is exactly but 5.25 is incorrect I believe.

wrong....

stock xj rims have 5.25 of back spacing.

stock ranger rims are roughly about 4.75" (i have both laying the back yard. I measured them just now to confirm)

Woah woah woah. Stock Ranger wheels work GREAT. Don't pass on them that easy. Stock ranger wheels SHOULD have 4.5" BS depending on the wheel. They WILL rub, but only at full lock. And even then it's not that bad.

If the tires are nice, the wheels look good, and the price is right, then jump on it man. I wanted Ranger wheels, but couldn't find any for the right price. ALOT of XJ guys around here run them, and they look damn good. My buddy runs 32x11.50's on Ranger wheels and they only rub a little bit.

True, ya the newer ones are 4.75. When I think of Ranger and Explorer Rims I think of the 90-94 stuff, I just like those styles better. And those are 4.5" BS.
